Description
Alex DeGolia leads Environmental Defense Fund’s (EDF's) state climate strategy across several US states. In that role, Alex is focused on accelerating adoption and implementation of policies that achieve deep greenhouse gas emission reductions and ensure states lead the way on aggressive and innovative climate action.
Background
Prior to joining EDF, Alex was Deputy Director of the Catena Foundation, a family foundation based in Western Colorado where he developed and led a climate and clean energy program focused on state policy in the Mountain West. Alex previously developed experiments for civic engagement organizations at the Analyst Institute and held roles in the Obama Administration at the White House Office of Management and Budget and the US Department of Commerce. He serves as an elected board director at Holy Cross Energy, a rural electric cooperative committed to 100% carbon-free electricity by 2030.
