Description

Eric Holst is Associate Vice President of Forests, leading EDF’s Wildfire Resilience Initiative, focused primarily on addressing the growing global threat of catastrophic fires. 

He is a California registered professional forester and expert in managing forested landscapes through sustainable forest management and prescribed fire, to make communities safer while protecting wildlife and delivering clean water and clean air. 

His career has been marked by finding ways to balance environmental protection, nature conservation, and community livelihoods.

 

Background

Eric holds a Master of Environmental Management degree from the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University and a B.S. in Botany from the College of Agriculture and Environmental Science at the University of California, Davis.
