Senate Confirms Joe Goffman for Head of EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation
Statement of EDF President Fred Krupp
“Today the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Joe Goffman to lead EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation, and that’s great news for everyone who wants cleaner air and a safer climate.
“Our nation needs Joe’s extensive experience, knowledge, and hard work as we tackle the increasingly urgent problems of the climate crisis and the air pollution that makes people sick. Joe has dedicated his career to protecting human health and the environment – from his time here at EDF to his work at EPA – and I have no doubt that as Assistant Administrator of EPA's Office of Air and Radiation he will continue his tireless efforts to protect Americans’ health and safety through decisions anchored in science and the law.
“Joe is highly qualified for this position, a strong leader, and dedicated to addressing the climate crisis and protecting people from harmful air pollution. Joe Goffman will make an outstanding head of EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation. I congratulate him on his confirmation today and thank the Senate for making this great choice.”
