Adam Gold
Manager, Climate Resilient Coasts and Watersheds, North Carolina and Virginia
Work
Areas of expertise:
Hydrology, water quality, coastal resilience, stormwater management, and natural infrastructure
Description
Adam is the Manager, Climate Resilient Coasts and Watersheds, North Carolina and Virginia. He works with teams in both states to develop flood resilience planning and policy through research project development and management.
Background
Prior to joining EDF, Adam was a postdoctoral researcher at the UNC Institute for the Environment where he researched the impacts of recurrent “sunny day” flooding on coastal communities.
Adam is from the Raleigh, NC area and attended UNC Chapel Hill for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. His research during graduate school focused on the impacts of land use change on coastal water quality and hydrology in North Carolina.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Ecology, UNC Chapel Hill
- M.S. in Ecology, UNC Chapel Hill
- B.S. in Environmental Sciences, UNC Chapel Hill
