More people are at risk from flooding than ever before, and that risk is growing rapidly as climate change fuels more intense hurricanes and rainfall, and as sea level rise threatens coastal communities across the country. The recent IPCC AR6 Climate Change 2021 report clearly articulated how many of these flood impacts are “locked in” for the coming decades, demonstrating the urgency in moving beyond the status quo and ensuring holistic approaches to flood risk management. -
